On the Swiss Mondial du Merlot & Assemblages wine competition Solus 2012 merlot won gold medal.
This is the one and only international competition in the world which is dedicated only to merlot variety wines and the blends made out of it. The judges of the international jury evaluated the wines in several categories: 100% merlot items, rosés, vintage items, blends and top wines. More than 200 wineries entered the competition from 22 countries of the world. Solus won the medal among 413 wines.
Solus is one of the top wines of our winery. It contains the grapes only from Kopar slope and made only in the nicest vintages. The meaning of Solus is “unique” which refers the specialty of the wine. We wanted to make such an item which pulls through among the biggest names of the world, and as this award shows, we managed.
