The American-born wine expert, now based in Hong Kong and a popular figure among wine consumers around the world, has published his assessments for the current Gere portfolio. Once again, our wines performed outstandingly, with the 2022 Fekete J\u00e1rdov\u00e1ny, 2021 Solus and 2020 Attila scoring 93 out of a maximum 100 points.<\/p>\n

In addition to these, the 2017 vintage Attila Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2020 vintage Vill\u00e1nyi Franc \u00d6rd\u00f6g\u00e1rok earned 92 points, and the 2021 Syrah 91. Fekete J\u00e1rdov\u00e1ny 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

Compact and well structured, this medium- to full-bodied red offers ripe fruit on the lighter spectrum with rich cherries, mulberries and hints of spices, cedar and dried tangerine peel. Focused and bright on the palate, with firm tannins and impressive composition and length. Drink or hold.<\/p>\n

Solus 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

A rich, exuberant red with aromas and flavors of dark plums, dried cherries, chocolate, sweet spices and wet earth. Full-bodied with a velvety, mouth-coating texture. Broad and structured yet smooth and well integrated, with a lingering finish. Merlot. Try from 2027.<\/p>\n

Attila 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ripe dark fruit, walnuts, toasted cedar, cloves and vanilla on the nose. Concentrated and intense, this full-bodied red has a massive tannin structure, yet it’s rather smooth, balanced and well integrated, with a velvety texture that runs evenly and long. Drink or hold.<\/p>\n

Attila Cabernet Sauvignon 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Full-bodied with a concentrated core, this red goes deep in plums, blackberries, ground spices and spiced cedar. It\u2019s broad-shouldered and long, with a succulent fruit component and a chocolaty aftertaste. Drink or hold.<\/p>\n

Vill\u00e1nyi Franc \u00d6rd\u00f6g\u00e1rok 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spiced and cedary, this red shows aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, walnuts and bark. Full and mouth-filling on the palate, yet polished and refined, with just a slight chewiness to its tannins and an earthy aftertaste. Drink or hold.<\/p>\n

Syrah 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aromas of dark spices, black peppercorns and wet earth, with a deep, dark-fruited character and some gamey nuances. Medium- to full-bodied, polished and almost silky on the palate, with succulent fruit on the mid-palate. Smooth and fluid aftertaste. Drink now or hold.<\/p>\n
